Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between ZMT Bremen and the Mauritius Oceanography Institute (MOI)

On 21^st January 2020, a three-year MoU was signed by H.E. Prof. Dr. Kheswar Jankee, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Mauritius to the Federal Republic of Germany on behalf of the MOI, and ZMT’s Scientific Director Prof. Dr. Hildegard Westphal agreeing on closer collaboration.

The objective is to expand cooperation in research and teaching as well as knowledge exchange. The MoU includes, the exchange of scientists, students and technical staff in the fields of tropical marine ecology, coastal ecology and fishery ecology.  The ambassador also expressed interest in ZMT’s research on ecosystem design in the field of mangrove ecology and studies on submarine groundwater discharge as well as aquaculture.
