Marine Invasive Species – Survey Scoping and Planning 25-27 May 2016

The Mauritius Oceanography Institute (MOI) was invited by the Indian Ocean Commission to host a workshop on Marine Invasive Species – Survey Scoping and Planning from the 25 to 27 May 2016. This 3 days’ workshop consisted of 2 days of ‘classroom’ sessions which took place at the MOI in Albion, Mauritius and a final day with site visit to the Port Louis port. The workshop was attended by participants from Comoros, Madagascar, Mauritius, Seychelles, Kenya and Tanzania.

 Mr. N. Soobratty, Ag. Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Ocean Economy, Marine Resources, Fisheries, shipping & Outer Islands officially opened the wprkshop in the presence of Mr. E. Vanhalewyn (European Union delegation), Mr. R. Mohabeer (Indian Ocean Commission), Mr. R. Prayag (Chairman of MOI) and Dr. D. Marie (Officer in Charge MOI).
